American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

The gelato and chocolate truffles were absolutely divine. Highly recommend if you're in the area to stop in for a sweet treat. You won't be disappointed.

Terrible Customer Experience – Will Not Return I had the worst customer experience I’ve ever had at Thornbrook Chocolate. I went in to purchase a gift box for friends and was deciding between an Oreo box and a truffle box. The staff member immediately discouraged me from the Oreo box, saying it had a clear cover and β€œwouldn’t be good to post” because it didn’t have a hard lid. That felt unnecessary and unhelpful, especially since I was buying it as a gift. I noticed extra boxes on the shelf behind the counter and asked if I could purchase an additional solid box to place the Oreo box in (for easier shipping). She repeatedly told me they β€œdo not sell their inventory,” which came across more like she was pushing me toward the more expensive truffle box rather than trying to help me find a solution. Not wanting to deal with the back-and-forth, I ended up buying the truffle box instead, along with several other Gator-themed items for local gifting. After paying, she handed me a shipping box for the truffles and mentioned that only truffle boxes get hard shipping boxes. As I was leaving, I asked for the string they tie around boxes to keep them from opening. She refused again, sayi

We ordered a quantity if chocolate truffles for a big party. When we arrived to pick them up, they had them beautifully boxed, and even specially packaged for our long car trip to the party venue. And the chocolates were absolutely heavenly. No better chocolates anywhere in the world.
